Singapore’s National Institute of Education Implements Artemis IT Management Solution

Artemis Solution to Improve the Accuracy and Speed of the IT Budgeting Process


SINGAPORE, March 22, 2006 - The National Institute of Education of Singapore (NIE) has begun implementing the Artemis 7 IT Management solution in its Academic Computing & Information Services (ACIS) Division.
The Artemis 7 solution will be used to improve the accuracy and speed of the IT budgeting processes to bring about better allocation of capital and resources. This will act as the first step in the ACIS’ plan to implement effective and efficient IT management and governance software aimed at contributing to NIE’s drive to be an institute of distinction.
“Artemis was selected as it is matches NIE’s present needs. It allows the flexibility for a phased approach for us to achieve our goal of managing ICT resources and projects using technology. This is in tune with the NIE’s business objectives. We see also, the potential in this product in terms of adding value to the ACIS’s strategic direction in holistic ICT Governance”, said Mr. Tan Hoon Chiang, Deputy Divisional Director of the ACIS. “We target to achieve in this preliminary project, an awareness of ICT portfolio management and how the software can be used to enhance the management of the NIE ICT budget with high effectiveness, resulting in quality decisions.”

The initial phase of implementation will involve the ACIS Administration and a Portal Project Team. This phase of implementation is expected to span three months after which there will be a joint review with Artemis International Corporation to determine further implementation scope.
